Most test takers are currently reporting no “experimental” questions on the general portion of the sales associate/broker exams and a total of five (5) “experimental” questions on the law portion. Said another way, you’re likely to receive 55 questions on law with only 50 counting towards your official score. On the general portion of the exam, you’ll answer 90 questions, but only 80 will count towards your score. Please note that this is subject to change and you don’t know which questions are experimental.
In addition to the number of counted test questions, a small number of “experimental” questions (i.e., 5 to 10) may be administered to candidates during the examinations. These questions will NOT be scored, and the time taken to answer them will NOT count against testing time. The administration of such unscored, experimental questions is an essential step in developing future licensing exams.
